Description
When most other perennials have faded in summer, Aster novi-belgii Fellowship bursts into a frenzy of activity, with clusters of semi-double and double blooms held on upright stems until late autumn. You might know Aster as Michaelmas Daisy, and botanically they are referred to as Asters as they are a relative of the wild daisy. We just love them because they are so hardy, dependable, and easy to grow, with a rich tapestry of colours which is breath-taking. Asters are a must have for any autumn garden. Translated from ancient Greek, Aster means star, a very apt name as Aster shine and light up your borders and containers with very little maintenance. Very easy to grow and much loved by our pollinating friends, the bees and butterflies who will visit your garden to take advantage of the nectar-rich feast on offer. A traditional and popular favourite of florists, Asters also make excellent cut flowers for your home. Aster novi-belgii Fellowship has been given the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for outstanding performance in the garden. Easy to grow Aster novi-belgii Fellowship is unfussy on soil conditions in sun or part shade and fully hardy, so winter cold does not bother it at all. Aster Fellowship reaches a height of approximately 90cm, spreading 40-60cm.
