Symphyotrichum novae-angliae Rudelsburg

Autumn can often be an intensely colourful season - with the oranges and reds of the foliage meeting late bloomers such as dahlias and asters to bring a triumphant rainbow, further accented by low, seasonal light which gives the garden and welcoming glow. Symphyotrichum novae-angliae 'Rudelsburg' will intensify this with its bright pink, daisy flowers accompanied by fluffy yellow centres which positively cry out for attention. Flowers are produced from September to November in almost spherical clumps which add a sense of sculptural artistry to containers, herbaceous borders, or prairie and gravel gardens. What's more flowers can be cut for a vase or floral display and will provide a beneficial late feast for hungry pollinators stocking up before winter. Symphyotrichum novae-angliae 'Rudelsburg' prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. A hardy, herbaceous perennial which dies back below ground over winter and re-emerges the following spring. Matures to a maximum height of 1.3m with a spread of 60cm.
