Description

A joyful house plant with a delicious jasmine-like scent that fills the whole room. This climbing beauty is often known as 'the wedding flower' but was originally named Stephanotis floribunda. Its woody stems are decorated with glossy green foliage and clusters of crisp, white flowers that are so delightfully fragranced. The wedding connotations derive from Victorian times when the flower was a symbol of marital happiness. Nowadays it is thought to represent good fortune, making it a lovely Christmas gift. Having already been trained around a little loop, your Stephanotis will already have six flower clusters in bud ready to bloom and create that idyllic loop of bliss. Its mature height will be around 45cm tall and the stylish cream Tedi pot it is supplied in 13cm in diameter. This plant will perform extremely well in any warm, light room, especially in a conservatory. It is just important to note that it should be kept away from direct sunlight in the hotter months. In the colder months, give it a good water whenever the soil appears reasonably dry but when the temperature picks up, so should your watering. Mist the leaves regularly and pot on annually.

H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
