Enkianthus Campanulatus A profusion of pink-veined, bell-shaped blooms hang in clusters from April to June, each full of nectar for bees and butterflies. The season ends with a bang, when in autumn the foliage becomes fiery red and orange, a rival to any Acer. Low maintenance shrub, preferring moist, slightly acidic soil in part shade. Height 3m (10'). Spread 1.5m (5'). Fully hardy perennial. Cercis Siliquastrum (Judas Tree) Judas Iscariot was said to have hanged himself from a tree of this species, hence the common name. A prolific display of deep pink nectar-filled flowers appears in spring - very popular with the local wildlife. These are followed by flat woody seed pods that hang in clusters. The heart-shaped blue-green leaves are bronze when young becoming yellow in autumn. Prefers moist well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Height & spread 10m (33'). Prunus Nipponica Var Kurilensis Brilliant One of the hardiest ornamental cherry plants. Single, pale pink, nectar-rich flowers borne on bare chestnut-brown branches in spring before the emergence of new rusty-bronze foliage. This dense, upright shrub or bushy tree will light your autumnal borders or containers as the green foliage turns orange-red before falling at the start of winter. Attractive to bees. Prefers moist, well-drained soil in sun. Height 3m (10'). Spread 2.1m (7')

How hardy are your plants?

All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
TR Tropical can withstand temperatures above 15 C (59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.

If in doubt, please do feel free to give us a call on 01386 562 999.

Young plants are grown in the ideal plug size to provide the best conditions required during the first stage of each plant’s development. Usually measuring approximately 8-15cm (3-6”) from root base to stem tip, although they are often larger. In ideal conditions they may be planted directly into the ground, however, we recommend they are potted on for 3-4 weeks to develop strong root growth prior to planting out.

Potted plants(5cm, 7cm & 9cm) are in the next stage of development, for those of you who like instant gardening. These can be either planted straight out soon after arrival or grown on a little longer in pots, whichever you prefer.

Bare roots are not always pretty on arrival but they are at least one year old and have been harvested from the field whilst dormant during the winter. We store them in necessary conditions, until you are ready to receive them.

Bulbs and Corms come in various sizes although this is not directly relevant to the eventual size of the plant. You do not have to worry about planting immediately on arrival as they will store well in a cool dry place for a couple of weeks.

We love to deliver to all of our customers within the UK including the Highlands and Islands at no extra cost to you - just £4.95 per order. European post and packing is charged at £5.95 per collection.

Your order will be confirmed by email and each item ordered will have an individual delivery date. Your items will arrive before the dates given unless Mother Nature lends a hand by providing unseasonable weather. On these rare occasions we would update you by email.

Items may be sent together, individually or a mix of the two depending on the individual delivery dates and our final quality inspection.
