Sophisticated Cypripedium Collection

Plants in the Sophisticated Cypripedium Collection are precious enough to be valued like exotic treasures: Cypripedium reginae holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit for outstanding performance in the garden; Cypripedium flavum happily naturalises, if left undisturbed; whilst Cypripedium parviflorum var. pubescens is an American native which boasts large and eye-catching yellow blooms. Plants in the Sophisticated Cypripedium Collection have had a somewhat unstable past but new methods of cultivation mean that they are now making an unprecedented comeback. All 3 of the orchids in Sophisticated Cypripedium Collection are happy either planted in the ground or grown in containers so choose which suits you best. Flowers are borne during June and July and plants will naturalise in woodland, borders or grassy meadows. Although exotic looking, plants are easy to grow and will quickly form spectacular clusters if left undisturbed. All 3 are hardy, herbaceous perennials which prefer moist, loamy soil in part sun, part shade.
