Description

A snowdrop has one simple message to give you - 'Keep on going, Spring will be here soon'. This is the uncomplicated note of reassurance they wish you to hear. Their beautiful white drophead flowers, sometimes proudly protruding through the mid-winter snow, cannot fail to gladden the heart. Buying snowdrops 'in the green', is the key to successfully growing drifts of these much loved, honey-scented flowers. 'In the green' means, the bulbs have been harvested as the plant is about to start its dormant phase. This is important because when you plant and they awake, they rapidly habitualise in your garden. More fundamentally, it means they are alive. Due to snowdrop bulbs being so small, they dry out extremely quickly and die once in dry air. If harvested and planted 'in the green', the bulbs are still receiving goodness from the previous year's growth and are very much active
