Perfect for adding often much needed vertical interest into any garden, Salvia nemerosa Caradonna produces masses of small, iridescent-like, violet blue blooms that are held on strong, dark purple stems, creating spires of intense, almost glowing colour from June to October. A member of the Sage family the rough, grey-green foliage of Salvia Caradonna will release a fabulous fragrance when disturbed so perfect in borders or containers near a garden seat to enjoy the scent and also watch with fascination at the number of our pollinating friends that come to enjoy the feast. Salvia nemerosa Caradonna has been given the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for outstanding performance in the garden. Salvia Caradonna is amazingly drought tolerant once established and deer resistant. Incredibly easy to grow, preferring moist but well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Reaching a mature height of approximately 45cm and spreading to 30-45cm it is a fully hardy perennial to enjoy outside for years to come with no frost protection required.
