Salvia greggii Icing Sugar is a relatively new sister of the successful Salvia Hot Lips. An eruption of pink and purple, open-mouthed blooms, looking rather like pursed lips, smother attractive, sage-scented foliage from late spring to autumn. The blooms are held above the tidy, green, sage-scented foliage from April to September. Just perfect for planting near a path or seat where the sweet, sage-like aroma will be released when the foliage is disturbed. Much loved by bees and other pollinators, Salvia Icing Sugar is amazingly floriferous and will happily flourish in either borders or containers. Salvia Icing Sugar prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Reading a height of 65cm (26'), and spreading to 45cm (18'), it is a hardy perennial that can be grown outside in well-drained soil all year round, with extra winter protection only required during the very harshest of weather. During milder winters it may keep its foliage.
