Description

Salvia Dyson's Maroon is a new introduction into our Salvia family. The almost luminous, velvety, open-mouthed flowers in shades of maroon are held on wiry stems above sage-scented foliage, making a stunning display from late spring to autumn. Very easy to grow, drought tolerant and loved by bees Salvia Dyson's Maroon is happy grown in both borders and containers and just perfect positioned near a path or seat where the fragrance will be released when the foliage is brushed against. The word Salvia is derived from the Latin 'salvere' meaning 'to save' as it has been used medicinally for centuries. Like most Salvia, Dyson's Maroon prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade, reaching a height of approximately 75cm and spreading to 50cm. Salvia Dyson's Maroon is a hardy perennial which can be grown outside in well-drained soil all year round. Extra winter protection is only required during the very harshest of weather; during milder winters foliage remains.
