Come the Spring these three varieties will make a dramatic early season entrance, the three are: Tulip 'Natchwacht - dark plum, heavy petalled, beautiful, named after the world-famous painting by Rembrandt; Tulip 'Finola' - white petals blushed with pink and green, late flowering, makes a good cut-flower with two-week vase life; Tulip 'Orange Angelique' - the orange colour deepens as the flower matures, slightly fragrant and long-lived. In this collection are three gorgeous tulips for you to relish in the Spring. Tulip 'Angelique' - pink peony-like flowers, a well-known popular tulip and excellent for containers; Tulip 'Black Hero' - one of the darkest flowering tulips ever bred, an intense purple plum colour which is nearly black; Tulip 'La Belle Epoque' - antique peach in colour, peony-type flowers, make a great cut flowers with good vase life. As the Dutch would say 'lang leve de tulp', (long live the tulip!). Brilliant, vibrant, cheerful colours look joyous as your garden stirs from its drab winter slumber. Warm weather and better times are heralded by the arrival of the tulip. Tulip bulbs are planted in the autumn before the ground freezes, though planting in containers in January and February can still bring blooms. Seeing the green shoots from a tulip bulb emerging from the once frozen ground gives you optimism and hope. Tulips come in all colours and styles (singles, doubles, lily, frilled, parrots, peony, Darwin), which means there is something to appeal to every gardener. Tulips are the most-loved Spring bloom for the garden and as cut flowers to decorate the home after winter.
