Description

Abundant, generous and joyful rambling rose for a real statement in the summer garden. Perfect for climbing up a trellis, sweeping over an archway or adding its rich carmine hues to a wall. Blooms in June and July with simple, almost single flowers that have the look of a wild rose and produce similar attractive hips in autumn. Flowers have a light, sweet fragrance which will drift on summer breezes to delight your senses. Rosa 'American Pillar' is a newcomer to us but was first introduced to the world in 1862, so is long-established in the rose world. The simple flowers have a white eye and obvious stamen which are readily accessible to the abundance of pollinators who are sure to come for a feast. Plants prefer full sun or partial shade and humus rich, moist, well-drained soil. A hardy deciduous climbing shrub which reaches a height of 5m and spreads to 4m.
