Rhododendron Collection

A trio of soft pastel Rhododendrons celebrate the start of summer Throughout May and June, our Rhododendron Collection blooms in harmonious shades of summery lavender, lilac, and pure white. Loved by bees, the trumpet-shaped ruffled flowers hold a cluster of prominent stamens, giving an exotic look. Each bloom is splashed with a smattering of spicy yellow and orange freckles within. Collection includes 1 each of 'Catawbiense Grandiflora', 'Cunningham's White', and 'Roseum Elegans'. These medium to large evergreen shrubs thrive in dappled shade. Plant in a sheltered spot to avoid frost damage to young buds. Perfect for screening, woodland gardens, and large, deep borders. H: 2.2m-3m S: 2.4m-3m Rhododendrons love to grow in moist, well-drained, acid soil rich in organic matter. When planting, add a generous amount of ericaceous compost to the planting hole and position each shrub with the top of the root ball slightly above the surface of the soil. Allow plenty of space for your Rhododendrons to spread as they mature. Deadhead blooms soon after flowering and prune at the same time only if you wish to maintain smaller sized shrubs. Mulch in autumn with a thick layer of ericaceous compost or pine needles and leaf-mould to retain soil moisture and nutrients, and to suppress weeds. Fully hardy (H6) evergreen shrubs which require no special winter protection.
