The well-loved British Primrose, growing wild in the meadows has long been a sign of spring. The lollipop-shaped flowers are adorable and vibrantly coloured, making a stunning combination when planted with spring flowering tulips and daffodils. All love to be bathed in sun during the spring but require cooler shade during the heat of summer. Prefer moist well-drained soil in part shade. Fully hardy perennials.

All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
TR Tropical can withstand temperatures above 15 C (59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
