Primula is Latin for the first to bloom. Auricula means shaped like an ear. An indication of Primula Auricula's early flowering and the fact its largest leaves look like a big bears' ear. The bell-shaped flowers are a delight when they open in the Spring. Borders, woodlands, containers, and window-boxes are all brought to life by these pint-sized plants, who flower their little socks-off. Easy to grow, semi-evergreen, bright and happy. We all need these cheerful plants each Spring to signify the passing of Winter and the happier days ahead.

How hardy are your plants?

All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
TR Tropical can withstand temperatures above 15 C (59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
