Description

A British favourite for over 400 years, this species offers delightfully symmetrical and colourful blooms in hundreds of different varieties. Your Pretty Primula Collection will provide both double and single blooms to brighten up your spring. From March to May, your plants will flower in lively shades of rich copper, intense burgundy and zesty violet. 2 of the varieties in your collection will burst with frothy, double blooms. In contrast, the lively maroon flowers on your third primula are highlighted by a white rimmed, gold centre. The sturdy stems of all your plants will raise clusters of blooms above attractive clumps of foliage. These charming primulas will swathe your beds, borders, containers or hanging baskets with invigorating colour. While attractive to pollinators, deer and rabbits will happily leave your plants alone. Plant your primulas when the weather cools in September. A fully or partly sunny position with moist, well-drained soil and a south, east or west facing aspect is ideal. Adding a generous amount of compost to the soil before planting will also help your plants thrive. These hardy primulas are considered resilient to poor weather conditions. Your plants will also happily naturalise in your garden. In maturity, the plants in your collection will each extend to a maximum height and spread of 30cm by 30cm.
