Description

Phlox paniculate Laura produces pyramidal clusters of pink-purple blooms, each with a starry white central eye. The showy flowerheads cover the neat, upright clumps of foliage throughout the summer, often again in October; clouds of a gentle sweet fragrance are released into your garden. Much loved by your pollinating friends, the nectar-rich blooms encourage bees and butterflies into your garden for a feast. Originating in North America, Phlox were introduced to Europe in the 1700's. The name stems from the Greek for 'flame' and Phlox been a firm favourite in summer gardens ever since. Low maintenance and easy to grow, Phlox Laura are happy grown in borders, containers and last well when cut for a vase. Phlox are slug resistant and tolerant of most soil conditions in sun or part shade. Growing to a height of 90cm and spread of 60cm Laura is a fully hardy perennial which can be left outside over winter to bloom again for many years.
