Description

A tall, upright bushy plant which produces captivating clusters of pastel pink flowers in July and August, each with an accentuated, darker pink eye. Phlox originate from North America and came to Europe in the 1700s, fast becoming popular for their easy-going and adaptable nature. Much favoured in cottage garden planting, they are increasingly featuring in more modern garden schemes as not only do they produce colourful and enduring blooms, they also have a spectacular fragrance which is well-placed in a sensory garden. Phlox paniculata 'Europa' produces its showy flowerheads over neat, upright mounds of foliage and the nectar-rich blooms are loved by bees and butterflies who are sure to visit your garden for a feast. Stems are strong and make an excellent cut flower for your home - lasting well in a vase or floral display. Plants prefer a site in moist, well-drained soil which benefits from full sun or partial shade. A fully-hardy, herbaceous perennial which requires no winter protect and reaches a height of 90cm with a spread of 75cm.
