Description
A truly stunning Phlox, paniculata Blue Paradise has stunning clusters of double, mauve-purple blooms that almost smother the domed foliage all summer. Phlox are beautiful cottage garden favourites that are equally at home in more modern planting schemes. Originating in North America Phlox were introduced to Europe in the 1700's. The name stems from the Greek for 'flame' and have been a firm favourite in summer gardens for many years. Phlox Blue Paradise produces showy flowerheads over neat, upright clumps of foliage all summer long, then often again in the autumn, releasing a gentle sweet fragrance. The nectar-rich blooms are loved by bees and butterflies that will come flocking into your garden. Phlox are happy grown in either borders or containers. They are excellent cut for your home, lasting well in a vase. Phlox Blue Paradise is a fully hardy perennial so can be left outside all winter, it is slug resistant and tolerant of most soil conditions in sun or part shade, growing to a height of approximately 120cm and spread of 75cm.
