Unusual and rare, Phlox drummondii Cherry Caramel is just delightful as scented clusters of blooms in amazing colours combinations of cherry red, peachy-orange and cream ensure no two blooms are exactly alike. Incredibly floriferous and scented as their larger cousins the grandiflora, they are shorter so are perfect for containers or the front of borders where they will not flop. The pretty blooms are produced from from summer to autumn, attracting our pollinating friends, the bees and butterflies into your garden, whilst you enjoy the clouds of scent. Phlox drummondii make wonderful flower arrangements when cut for your home, lasting well in a vase, so you can enjoy the fragrance inside as well. Incredibly popular with Victoria gardeners, they are named after the Scottish botanist Thomas Drummond who visited Texas and sent the first samples back to Britain in the 1800's. Phlox drummondii prefer to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade, growing to an approximate height and spread of 30-40cm. Half-hardy annuals, the seed can easily be collected ready to be sown for you to enjoy many more new plants the following year.
