Pennisetum setaceum Rubrum

Pennisetum setaceum 'Rubrum' is an easy-going and graceful ornamental grass with arching stems of colourful, rich reddish-purple foliage. Adding sensuality, colour and movement to your garden from spring right through to the first frosts each year. From July these grassy clumps produce soft and fluffy, burgundy, pink flower plumes which will collide and contrast as they weave through borders and create fountains in containers. If you wish to keep it for longer then it requires protection from frost in a conservatory or heated greenhouse. Plants prefer moist, well-drained soil in full sun and reach a height of 1.5m and spread of 1.2m.
