Description

Exotic, stunning climbing bloom which will enhance any vertical area in your garden Large, intricate, violet-pink flowers bloom profusely from July to September. An intriguing, tropical, fast-growing climber which is perfect for planting to scramble up bare walls or fences where the flowers can be seen and appreciated. Commonly known as Passion flower as the detailed flowers mirror the symbols of Christs crucifixion. Mature H&S: 8m x 4m Edible, egg-sized fruits ripen in autumn after a warm summer, or when grown in a greenhouse. Passion flowers prefer moist, fertile, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade in a sheltered south or west-facing aspect. In cold areas protect the plant with fleece or move undercover to a frost-free place. Winter hardy to -8 C. Water regularly during the growing season and feed with liquid fertiliser every two weeks. Prune in the spring to tidy up vines and propagate by softwood cuttings or seed at the same time if desired. Passiflora Victoria is one of the oldest known cultivars of the Passion flower. A semi-evergreen, hardy perennial with an RHS hardiness rating of H4.
