Tell Me More...
Parahebe catarractae 'Blue Form' is the perfect plant to hide bare ground with a dense covering of glossy evergreen foliage. Closely related to Veronica and Hebe, which explains the origins of its name. Parahebe is more delicate in appearance and has a boundless energy coupled with almost relentless flowering. Plants originate from the dry, sunny areas of Australasia and are beneficially drought tolerant once established. Parahebe catarractae 'Blue Form' creates wonderful weed-suppressing mats. Its stiff stems are topped with masses of delicate, pale blue, saucer-shaped flowers in spring and summer, often blooming again in autumn.Parahebe catarractae 'Blue Form' is easy to grow, preferring moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Plants will reach a mature height of 30cm and spread of approximately 80cm. Parahebe are also perfect for low maintenance containers. This is a hardy perennial, meaning it can be grown outside in most of the UK for you to enjoy for years, only needing protection in the very coldest winters.
