Description

Paeonia 'Cytherea' (peony 'Cytherea') Soft, two-tone pink blooms An early-mid flowering cultivar, from May to June Paeonia 'Cytherea' bears large, strongly cupped, semi-double rose pink blooms, fading to a pale peach as they age. Foliage is deeply divided, glossy and dark green. A soft, delicate appearance belies the tough nature of this peony, derived from a species found growing wild in Siberia, Mongolia, China, and Tibet. This clump-forming herbaceous perennial makes a long-lived addition to the garden, though resents any form of disturbance so it is important to avoid moving once planted. Ideal for a mixed perennial planting scheme, or as a lower storey plant surrounding shrubs. Peonies also make excellent cut flowers, with a vase life of around a week if cut in bud. Prefers deep, fertile, humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. H&S: 90cm x 90cm. Hardy herbaceous perennial.
