Everyone loved Osteospermum, and these hardy varieties do not have to be replaced every year. Chirpy, tough little chaps who greet the sun all summer long. Just as beautiful and beautiful as their tender cousins, The evergreen, mat-forming foliage becomes covered by the profusion of bright daisy-like blooms from May to October, creating wonderful colourful groundcover which helps to prevent those pesky weeks from coming through. Although originating from South Africa, hence the common name, Cape Daisy, Osteospermum are named after the seeds, Osteon is Greek for bone and spermum is latin for seeds, referring to the fact they are 'bone hard'. Perfect for the front of your borders, Osteospermum look amazing when grown in patio containers. This hardy daisy thrives on neglect, are drought tolerant, easy to grow and low maintenance. You find they prefer well-drained soil in sun and will happily cope with part shade. Growing to a height of approximately 30-40cm, the cushion of foliage spreads to around 60-90cm. You will be enjoying these What a work of art! Forget the usual alpine Iberis. Masterpiece is perfect as a specimen plant in containers and borders. Huge, flat clusters up to 3' across, of pure white flowers with pink centres smother evergreen shrubby foliage from spring through to autumn. Attractive to butterflies, drought tolerant and deer resistant. Prefers well drained soil in sun or part shade. Height & spread 30-45cm (12-18'). Hardy perennial.hardy perennials for seasons to come, only needing winter protection in extreme weather.

How hardy are your plants?

All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
TR Tropical can withstand temperatures above 15 C (59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.

We deliver to all of our customers within the UK including the Highlands and Islands for just £4.95 per order.

Your order will be confirmed by email and each item ordered will have an individual delivery date. Your items will arrive before the dates given unless Mother Nature lends a hand by providing unseasonable weather. On these rare occasions we would update you by email.

Items may be sent together, individually or a mix of the two depending on the individual delivery dates and our final quality inspection.
