Description

Nicotiana sanderae Perfume Lime is a new beauty joining a family which has been popular for generations. The scent has been described as 'divine' and we at Hayloft would concur. Serene, elegant and graceful, Nicotiana Perfume Lime creates a profusion of large, airy, upward-facing, trumpet-shaped blooms in shades of lime green; sure to be much admired in your borders and containers, summer and autumn. Nicotiana Lime sparkles with a tropical touch each evening, emitting a wonderful fragrance, ensuring your garden is filled with scent. Excellent as cut flowers for your home, lasting well in a vase in order you can enjoy the perfume indoors. Nicotiana is a distant cousin of the indigenous American 'tobacco plant' and is often referred to by this name. The name originates from Jean Nicot, a French diplomat in the 1500's, who was convinced of the medicinal properties within the tobacco leaves and presented it to the French royalty as a remedy for headaches. Nicotiana Perfume Lime is loved by bees and prefer to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Reaching a height of approximately 50cm and spread 30cm. Nicotiana is a half-hardy annual, the seed is easily collected and sown, to enjoy new plants the following season.
