Description
Vibrant colour for shadier spots with these delightful candelabra blooms. Flowers are produced successionally from March to July and stand proudly on tall stems above semi-evergreen and herbaceous foliage. Excellent cut for a posy or small vase and pollinator friendly too. Plants adapt to a range of conditions, having decorous impact in pots, underneath shrubs and in rockeries - with two varieties adapting to the edge of a pond where soil is continually moist. Myriad Primula Collection comprises award-winning bulleyana with flowers from April to June which reaches a height and spread of 60cm; capitata sub. mooreana which is scented and grows to a height and spread of 30cm , blooms from May to July; japonica 'Alba', another perfumed variety which reaches 60cm tall and spreads to 45cm, flowering from March to June; japonica 'Miller's Crimson' - an award winner which flowers from May to July and reaches a height and spread of 45cm - happy in damper conditions; finally another damp-loving variety, japonica 'Appleblossom' which flowers from March to June and reaches 60cm tall, with a spread of 45cm. Plants in the Myriad Primula Collection prefer moist, humus-rich soil in sun or partial shade. Fully hardy and hardy perennials which do not need winter protection throughout most of the UK.
