Muscari Golden Fragrance is a rare and unusual sunny, golden-yellow variety of grape hyacinth.Dusky purple buds appear in April and May, opening violet and incredibly merging to bright yellow down the stem with age - a striking and intriguing combination. The tiny buds and bells are loosely clustered on dark stems up to 15cm tall, their shape resembling miniature bananas!Spring muscari are a treasure in any garden and are adored by bees who are attracted by their delicate fragrance which is reminiscent of gardenias.Plant your bulbs in autumn, 10cm deep in moist, well-drained soil in part shade adding a handful of grit to the planting hole to assist drainage. Gorgeous when planted with other spring flowers in the border such as narcissi, tulips and fritillaria.Muscari also make excellent plants for your pots, adding a delicate lower storey to your spring planting scheme
