Description

Muscari Ocean Magic produces stunning pale blue blooms, densely packed onto short upright stems. Urn-shaped clusters of flowers resembling tiny bunches of grapes appear in March and April on stems up to 15cm, giving this plant its common name, grape hyacinth. The blooms are tipped white and green and fade into a beautifully fresh pastel blue. The name Muscari comes from the Greek word for musk, relating to the scent which is delightful to us and divine to the bees who visit the pollen rich hearts. Plant your bulbs in autumn, 10cm deep in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny position for a rewarding display next spring. Add a handful of grit to the planting holes or bed to aid drainage. Perfect for planting in clumps or drifts where the flower colour will give impact to your spring garden. Muscari also make great plants for pots, simply planted on their own or with other spring flowering bulbs such as narcissi, tulips, and dogs-tooth violets.
