Hugely attractive, very fragrant and rather hard to find, Millettia reticulata will give you clouds of stunning scent in your garden all summer long. With the common name Evergreen Wisteria, Millettia reticulata is not actually a wisteria, this twining evergreen vine will quickly ramble using woody stems that twist around upright supports to quickly cover a pergola or trellis. In summer, long panicles of beautiful, dark purple, pea-like blooms emit a stunning scent. Millettia reticulata is a wonderful non-invasive alternative to the often-grown Chinese Wisteria which can often take over. This low maintenance climber is much loved by bees and butterflies and is ideal for quickly covering garden structures or creating a stunning, romantic scented walkway. Millettia prefer to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Growing to a height and spread of approximately 3m, it is a hardy perennial that will stay evergreen in most areas of the UK, requiring winter protection only in the very coldest of areas.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
