Description

Grow a rainbow of colour to uplift and enchant. Perfect for naturalising ribbons of cheerful colour in contemporary or traditional planting schemes - Lupinus Gallery collection includes one each of blue, red, pink, white, and yellow. A cottage garden classic with a triple twist - Gallery Lupins grow to just 60cm tall - ideal for smaller gardens and large containers. Easy to care for and tolerant of poor soil and drought, Lupins are members of the pea family, and self-fertilise the ground as they grow. Finally, Gallery Lupins do not require staking as the foliage is bushy and compact. Spires of colourful, pea-like flowers emerge from a bed of lush foliage in June and July, adored by bees and pollinators. Lupins are phototropic plants; they bend and turn towards light and make beautiful, elegant cut flowers. Plant in full sun or part shade, in any aspect but north-facing. Lupins thrive in loamy, well-drained, neutral to acidic soil. Deadhead blooms to encourage further flowers and remove faded foliage and stems as you tidy up the garden in autumn. Propagate by basal stem cuttings or sow seeds in spring. Lupins are fully hardy perennials with an RHS hardiness rating of H5. Warning: All parts of Lupins are poisonous, do not ingest and wear gloves when handling.
