Description
Leucanthemum vulgare is a wonderful UK native wildflower which will happily naturalise into bountiful swathes. Attracting a host of pollinating insects to your garden from May to July, she will often produce a second flush of blooms towards the autumn. Whether as part of a wildflower meadow or growing in a patch in your garden (or even a container), a dazzling natural display of cheerful daisy-like blooms will greet you. Known as Ox-eye Daisy, Marguerite and Moon Daisy, she will take your breath away by the sheer abundance of blooms. The soaring popularity of wildflower meadows has been illustrated recently in the most prestigious RHS show gardens. No garden is too small to happily host insects, birds and other wildlife. Present a veritable feast of seeds, leaves, nectar, and pollen, whilst creating a safe habitat for shelter and a perfect place for nature to procreate. Leucanthemum vulgare prefers to be grown in moist well-drained soil, in sun or part shade. A fully hardy annual with an RHS hardiness rating of H7, she will reach a mature height and spread of 60cm within the season. Seed can easily be collected for the following year, sow in March to May, or September to October.
