Bees and butterflies love Lavender as we do too, and if blue does not fit in with your planting scheme why not plant white or pink? Create romantic walkways or plant alongside a bench, the fragrance enhances well-being and you will be fascinated watching your winged friends busily gathering nectar all summer long. Also known as English Lavender, but actually originating from the Mediterranean, Lavender love dry sun baked soils. Attractive to bees, drought tolerant, excellent as dried flowers and happy in borders and containers. Prefers well-drained soil in sun. Hardy perennial.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
TR Tropical can withstand temperatures above 15 C (59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
