Lathyrus odoratus is a deliciously scented sweet pea, native to Sicily, southern Italy and the Aegean Islands. It is a vigorous, annual climbing plant with flamboyant blooms that one might mistake for the wings of a dainty butterfly in flight. The ivory flowers, awash with the subtle colours, will freshen your garden from July to September, and act as a magnet for a number of beneficial insects. This wonderful collection includes Lathyrus odoratus Memorial Flight, Mollie Rilstone and Betty Maiden. Plant them together to create a watercolour picture of radiance in your borders. We recommend moist, well-drained soil and a sunny position for this half-hardy annual. Amazingly, you can cut these beauties to take into your home for a beautiful display and they will grow right back.
