Description

A gorgeous Canarian beauty, Isoplexis isabelliana Bella was first introduced to the market at Chelsea Flower Show 2019 and is sure to add a long-lasting, tantalising touch of the tropics to your garden. Exotic-looking blooms in sumptuous shades of sherbet orange, apricot and yellow, reminiscent of a tropical sunset, densely pack strong ruby-red stems from July to October over lush green foliage. Unusually compact and very bushy in habit, Isoplexis Bella is a showstopping, versatile relative of the foxglove which looks great in both borders and containers even when not in flower. The large, flattened, bell-shaped blooms are rich in nectar and much loved by bees. Isoplexis Bella prefers to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade with some protection from the coldest winter winds. Growing to a height of approximately 80cm, and spread 50cm, Bella is a hardy perennial, meaning that it will flourish outside all year round, just requiring protection from the worst of winter weather.

All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
TR Tropical can withstand temperatures above 15 C (59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
