Description
When we think of Narcissus then the Trumpet Daffodils are ones which we picture in our minds eye. Generous cups or 'trumpets' standing proud from the centre of bloom surrounded by a halo of petals. This collection contains 2 heirloom varieties with outstanding qualities. Narcissus 'Dutch Master' has rich golden-yellow, gently scented blooms which will shine out and brighten any spot they appear from mid-spring, welcoming warmer seasons to come! Introduced in 1938 and holds an AGM award from the RHS for outstanding garden performance. Grows to a height of 30-50cms on sturdy stems. Narcissus 'Goblet' opens with golden yellow cups or trumpets with frilly edges which stand out boldly from the surrounding pristine, glistening white perianth or petals, however they don't stop there because as they mature the cup pales to a lemon-yellow. Grows to a height of 30-40cm. Fabulous as a cut flower with a long vase life and an early spring feast for perky pollinators. Happy in containers on the patio or planted 'en-masse' in borders or grassy areas ready to naturalise, as will reliably return each year. Plant your hardy bulbs at any time in autumn at a depth of 10-15cm in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny spot and you can look forward to an eye-catching display in mid-spring.
