Helianthemem Raspberry Ripple

An exciting and unusual newcomer to the Helianthemum range, Helianthemum 'Raspberry Ripple' is a bushy, evergreen shrub which will spread its low-growing, drought tolerant carpets over walls, rockeries and gravels gardens giving weed-suppressing groundcover as it grows. Then, from May to August each year the blankets of foliage explode with an abundance of showy, rippled pink and white flowers - each with a glorious, golden centre. Petals have an alluring papery delicacy which belies the robustness of these pretty flowers. Drought tolerant once established, plants are native to North and South America, Asia, Europe and North Africa, particularly around the Mediterranean. It's small wonder that Helianthemum 'Raspberry Ripple' adores a sunny spot in the garden. In fact, the genus name comes from the Greek words 'helios' meaning the sun, and 'anthemon' meaning flower. Perfectly suited to a rock or gravel garden, walls, raised beds, container displays and path edges. Helianthemum prefers a spot with well-drained, moderately fertile, neutral to alkaline soil in full sun (the sunnier the better). A hardy, evergreen perennial which reaches a height of 30cm with a spread of 50cm.
