Description

Helenium will ensure your autumn garden will be full of fiery colour, shining like beacons of light, in sizzling shades. Hundreds of bold, shuttlecock-like flowers in scorching hues are loved by bees and butterflies. Create some dramatic colour in your late summer and autumn garden this year. Establish perfect displays of long-lasting flowers in your borders and containers, whether in a cottage garden, prairie planting or more modern style, these blooms will dance in the wind. Legend tells Helenium sprang from the ground, watered by the tears of Helen of Troy. Known also as Sneezeweed because the leaves were once used in snuff! Helenium are excellent as cut flowers for your home, they are easy to grow and very long flowering. Helenium prefer to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade. They grow outside happily with no winter protection, reaching heights of approximately 60-120cm, and spread to 45-60cm.
