Tell Me More...
A rare, exciting new pair of elegant South Australian climbers. Harmonious Hardenbergia Duo brings you strong, woody stemmed shrubs which climb up trellis or other supports and, if left to their own devices, sometimes scramble around themselves to produce attractive bushes of interconnected stems. You will receive both Hardenbergia violacea, with its AGM holding rich violet beauty, and Hardenbergia violacea f. 'Alba', with panicles of pure white flowers accented with hints of zesty lime. Both varieties offer pollinator-friendly, sweetly scented, pea-like flowers from March to August each year - which are not only attractive to people but offer an irresistible source for nectar to pollinators too. Hardenbergia are known by a variety of common names - Native Wisteria, Lilac Vine and Coral Pea each alluding to the many beneficial and beautiful qualities of this unusual plant. Plant in fertile, moist, well-drained soil which benefits from full sun or partial shade and a south or east facing aspect. Harmonious Hardenbergia Duo are both half-hardy, evergreen shrubs which need protection from frost in order to remain healthy. Mature to a height of 2 metres, with a spread of up to 1 metre.
