The first cantabrigiense variety with large, pure white flowers, each petal overlapping, as the blooms smother the low evergreen carpet all summer - the perfect contrast to show off their beauty. A tough, easy to grow evergreen carpet for borders, containers or even under trees or shrubs, that is both low maintenance and very undemanding. Geranium cantabrigiense St Ola, has red buds and calyces, and like most cantabrigiense varieties the calyces stay on the plant after the summer blooms have faded, giving some extra interest. Quickly covering a bare patch, the glossy aromatic foliage is the perfect foil for the nectar rich blooms so loved by butterflies. Bred by Alan Bramner and named after the area he lives in on Orkney. Geranium cantabrigiense St Ola reaches a height of approximately 20cm and spreading to 50cm, preferring to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade. As a fully hardy perennial she survives even the coldest winters outside for years to come with no winter protection required. Almost luminous green aromatic foliage creates evergreen mounds, the perfect weed-suppressing groundcover with amazing autumnal colour shades by the end of the summer and into the winter.

All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
TR Tropical can withstand temperatures above 15 C (59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
