Description

Unusual and exquisite, Double Geranium pratense plenum Violaceum produces double, rosebud-like violet blooms, each flushed with purple. The flowers held on wiry stems above the attractive, deeply dissected foliage which is slug and rabbit resistant. Highly sought-after, rare, and unusual, these double Geranium have all the wonderful attributes of their single flowered cousins. Versatile and happy to be grown between other perennials with very little care required at all. Geraniums were brought to Britain in the 16th Century and quickly became a mainstay of the British garden. Self-sufficient and trouble free, they are straightforward to grow in both borders and containers. Floriferous, whilst being drought tolerant, the clumps get larger each year and can be divided after several years to create more plants to share. Growing to a height and spread of 45-60cm, Geranium pratense Plenum Violaceum is not fussy on soil conditions and is happy in either sun or part shade. Being a fully hardy perennial, they will thrive outside for you to enjoy for years to come without the need for winter protection.

HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
