Description
A flower so popular they have their own national society. Bell-like blooms, reminiscent of a ballerina's skirt as she pirouettes with grace, hang elegantly from relaxed stems, creating a picturesque display from early summer through to the autumn. Sumptuous colours offset by rich green foliage look simply mesmerising in exotic gardens. Blue Angel (H&S: 30cm) produces striking, blue-purple and white large double blooms, Blacky (H&S: 40cm) bares giant blooms with layers of deep purple petals, and Pink Galore (H:20cm. S:50cm) gives us masses of delightful double pink blooms, all very different but equally beautiful in their own right. Generally thought to look best in hanging baskets where the laid-back flowers can drape over the sides. Wonderful when paired with lobelia, coleus or angel wing begonias to create a display that butterflies will struggle to resist. These half-hardy perennials should be grown in full sun or partial shade in rich, well-drained soil and sheltered from cold winds.

How hardy are your plants?
All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.
FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)
WT – Warm temperate – can withstand temperatures between 5-10 °C (41-50 °F)
ST – Sub Tropical – are happy in temperatures between 10-15 °C (50 – 59 °F)
TR – Tropical – can withstand temperatures above 15 °C (59 °F)
Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
