Add grace and height to your spring garden with the unusual, towering spires of Fritillaria persica Alba. Also known as Ivory Bells, the flowers are a beautiful, fresh shade of creamy green. Up to 30 little bell-shaped blooms wind their way down stems up to 90cm tall in April and May.Fritillaria persica Alba's towering stature rises above the other plants and looks stunning with other spring flowering perennials such as tulips and narcissi.Particularly delightful in a green and white planting scheme. For best results, plant bulbs on their sides in spring in well-drained soil at a depth of 20cm. Take care not to damage the fragile bulbs and add a handful of grit to the planting hole to aid drainage. Shaded areas which remain damp in the summer are the best spot for these stunning British native beauties which are very weather-tolerant.Fritillaria persica's make excellent cut flowers, adding quirk, drama, and movement to your arrangements.
