Description

Fragrant and abundantly colourful favourite Enduringly popular as a cut flower, this Freesia Single Mix encapsulates everything we love about these trumpet-shaped, gently arched blooms. The simple flowers have a gentle, relaxed habit as they sway and tilt in anticipation of the pollinating bees that find their fragrance and nectar hard to resist. Freesias originate from South Africa and grow from bulb-like corms will happily thrive in borders or containers - they can even be grown on a windowsill indoors to fill the house with delicious perfume. Furthermore, these exotic beauties have been especially heat treated to mimic the conditions in their native environment and prompt them to flower more quickly for you. Blooms are produced from June to August with foliage being held from April to October. As a tender perennial they will need protection from the winter cold as they are only tolerant of temperatures as low as 1 C. This makes freesias ideal for growing in pots as it eases their transportation to a warmer environment once there is risk of frost. With just little extra care these single freesia blooms are a garden 'must have' which are also great as a cut flower for bouquets and the vase.
