Description

Digitalis are instantly recognisable flowers but obscura Dusky Maid is unique and just a little bit different. Looking rather like an elusive orange Penstemon, this latin stunner is in fact a rather unusual Spanish Foxglove. Digitalis make a statement all summer, however Dusky Maid flowers for much longer, from June all the way through to October in your borders or containers. Many strong, upright, branching stems are laden with stunning orange-russet blooms over neat clump forming foliage. A real sight to behold. The nectar-rich blooms are much loved by bees and butterflies and make excellent cut flowers for your home. Being a woodland plant, Digitalis obscura Dusky Maid prefers to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade.Reaching an approximate height of 60-80cm and spread of 50cm, Digitalis Dusky Maid is a fully hardy perennial which will naturally die back over winter in readiness to sprout again the following spring.
