Description

A long flowering ever-changing carpet of colour. Each new daisy-like bloom opens crisp white, with a yellow centre, the petals taking on pink-purple hues as they mature, giving a two-tone effect. With such a long flowering period, from May to October it is surely a must-have, groundcover plant for every garden. Erigeron karvinskianus also holds The RHS Award for Garden Merit. Happy in poor soil as an edging plant or tumbling over a wall it even grows in cracks, crevices and pavements, yet it's not invasive and it's also loved by bees. Prefers well-drained soil in sun or part-shade. Height 25cm (10 inches). Spread 30cm (12 inches). Fully hardy perennial.

All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
TR Tropical can withstand temperatures above 15 C (59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
