Echinacea is one plant which is certain to bring the party to your summer borders. Demanding notice, especially from our pollinating friends, the giant blooms dazzle well into the autumn. Echinacea gives you armfuls of cut flowers for weeks on end. Once mature, little plantlets are produced so you will have more to share. Happy in coastal sites and wildlife gardens. Deer resistant. Loved by bees and butterflies, the giant daisy-like blooms are held on sturdy, strong stems, which dazzle well into the season. Echinacea are also known as the American Coneflower and have long been used by Native North Americans as a traditional herbal remedy for various ailments - including snake bites. Nowadays, echinacea are commonly used to relieve symptoms of colds and flu. Echinacea prefer to be grown in well-drained soil in sun and will cope in partial shade. A hardy perennial which will grow to an approximate height of 90cm and spread of 50cm and will thrive outside for you to enjoy for years to come with no winter protection required.
