Description

Echinacea Eccentric is perfectly named. Large, blooms open, changing colour as they mature through shades of orange and scarlet, so you get a mix of colours at any one time. Flowering throughout the summer and into the autumn, Echinacea Eccentric is sure to bring the party to your borders and containers. Loved by bees and butterflies, the giant daisy-like blooms which are held on sturdy, strong stems, will dazzle well into the autumn, giving you armfuls of cut flowers for weeks on end. Once mature, little plantlets are produced giving you more to share. Happy grown in coastal sites, prairie planting and wildlife gardens in borders or containers. Echinacea are deer resistant. Echinacea are also known as American Coneflower and has long been used by Native North Americans as a traditional herbal remedy for various ailments including snake bites, today it is commonly used to relieve symptoms of colds and flu. Echinacea prefer to be grown in well-drained soil in sun and will cope in partial shade. Like all hardy perennials, Echinacea Eccentric will thrive outside for you to enjoy for years to come with no winter protection required.
