Description

Digitalis x valinii Illumination are a hybrid between the hardy purpure and the canariensis. Gaining the best traits from both parents, these digitalis are an exceptionally long flowering perennial foxglove, in tropical tones to give you mouth-watering colour for years to come. Each tall stem is densely packed with out-ward facing, exotic-looking, bell-shaped blooms, creating fabulous spires of colour above rosettes of semi-evergreen foliage from summer through the autumn. Easy to grow, these sterile plants do not set seed, hence the extended flowering period for you to enjoy. Digitalis Illumination blooms are nectar-rich; your local pollinating friends, particularly the bees will visit to enjoy the feast. Happy in sheltered borders and containers with protection required from the very coldest winter weather. Digitalis Illumination prefer to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade, Hardy through most of the UK, down to around -10 C.
