Description

Related to the carrot family, Daucus Carota Dara is often referred to as the 'Wild Carrot', though much prettier. Slender wiry stems, dense mounds of luxurious and feathery foliage are topped with branched umbels of small, delicate and textured nectar-rich blooms throughout summer; to the delight of our pollinating friends. Each white bud opens to display pink flowers which become burgundy as the blooms mature. Daucus are superb as part of a mixed flowerbed or border, within a cottage or wildflower garden. Additionally, Daucus look equally as stunning in more modern planting schemes. A florist's dream, Daucus Carota Dara make fabulous cut flowers and create a fine addition to bouquets. Growing to a height of around 80cm and she will spread to 45cm. A hardy annual, seed can easily be collected to be sown for the following year.
