Description
Daphne Described as a must-have plant by the Royal Horticultural Society, this gorgeous collection of evergreens includes Rebecca, a rare and highly sought-after variety with extra wide creamy-yellow margins. She was discovered in Devon by nurseryman Steve Watson in the 1980's, yet only recently because available. Clusters of small buds open to reveal highly scented blooms - Rebecca and odora flowering in winter and spring, while Eternal Fragrance flowers on new growth from April to October. All emit a sweet scent to tempt you outside to be enjoyed near a seat, path or doorway, and are followed by colourful spherical berries. Voted as one of the most fragrant shrubs in the UK, Daphnes are a must-have plant for every garden. Excellent cut for flower arrangements, so you can enjoy the beauty and the scent indoors. Daphne are low maintenance, requiring very little attention. They prefer to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. Growing to a height and spread of approximately 1-1.5m, they are hardy perennials for you to enjoy for years to come, flourishing outside in UK winters.

How hardy are your plants?
All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.
FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)
WT – Warm temperate – can withstand temperatures between 5-10 °C (41-50 °F)
ST – Sub Tropical – are happy in temperatures between 10-15 °C (50 – 59 °F)
TR – Tropical – can withstand temperatures above 15 °C (59 °F)
Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
